Did you know that the Lycian Way in Turkey, now considered as one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, was researched, designed and signposted by Kate Clow, a British historian, in 1999?
Kate Clow lived in the UK until 1989. In the early nineties, she moved to Antalya and started exploring the paths linking the centres of the ancient civilisations of Turkey. She connected a network of old trails to create Turkey’s first long-distance hiking trail, the Lycian Way.
Kate helped form the Culture Routes Society in Turkey, she continues to promote responsible tourism and is still hiking the old trails of the region.
